The National Law Review reports that the U.S. Department of State changed some of the non-immigrant and immigrant visa application fees for certain visa categories.
Fees for family-based immigrant visa petition types were increased while fees for all other immigrant visa petition types were decreased. The changes went into effect on September 12, 2014.
The National Law Review listed the new fees as follows:
– I-130 (Immediate Relative and Family Petitions): $325.00 per applicant.
– I-140 (Employment-Based Petitions): $345.00 per applicant.
– Other petition types including I-360 (Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant): $205.00 per applicant.
The U.S. Department of State said that refunds would not be issued to applicants who paid visa fees before September 12 for the category that was subsequently decreased.
